The G-CAT is designed to measure core cognitive abilities that are critical to success across a wide range of occupational roles. By providing objective, reliable, and valid measures of these abilities, the G-CAT helps organizations make more informed, evidence-based decisions when selecting and developing talent. The G-CAT evaluates cognitive abilities that are essential for problem-solving, decisionmaking, and other mentally demanding tasks. These abilities are assessed through carefully designed non-verbal tasks to ensure fairness across diverse populations.
The G-CAT comprises assessments of numerical, spatial and abstract reasoning ability, which scores are combined to generate a General Cognitive Ability score. This resulting score reflects a person’s ability to solve problems, extract and apply information, learn new skills and deal with complex situations. A person with a higher score is more likely to be a quick learner, and good performer as compared to a person with a lower score.

Detailed Test Report
Upon completing the G-CAT, candidates receive a detailed test report, which can be downloaded or printed. The first page provides a concise overview of the candidate’s overall performance. To put the results into perspective, scores are benchmarked against a norm group, generating a percentile ranking. For example, a candidate scoring 70 has performed as well as or better than 70% of the 1,350 individuals in our 2024 norming study.
The second page offers contextual explanations for each score, helping employers understand the candidate’s cognitive strengths. Designed for clarity and ease of interpretation, the report delivers objective insights to support fair and effective hiring decisions.
