What the sub-tests measure
Sub-test 1 (time limit: 1 minute)
The candidate is presented with a paragraph of text and must type as much as possible within the time limit.
Sub-test 2 (time limit: 1 minute)
The candidate is given a new paragraph of text and must again type as much as possible within the one-minute time limit.
Sub-test 3 (time limit: None)
The candidate is presented with a new paragraph of text and must accurately type the entire text, consisting of 400 characters.

*The Total Percentile Population Score is determined by comparing the candidate’s average CWPM with the norm group. If a candidate scores 70, they have performed as well or better than 70 percent of the 1,000 individuals who were part of our 2020 test study.
